Jonathan has over a decade of experience in the energy sector, beginning in 2011 when he joined the U.S. Navy and served as a Submarine Nuclear Operator and Electrician (EMN1(SS)). He became NERC Reliability Coordinator certified in 2017, just before completing his six years of service. Since then, Jonathan has worked as a Power System Operator—and he’s loved every minute of operating the Bulk Electric System. He holds a degree in Business Administration (2010) and also pursued studies in ancient Greek and Hebrew. After an early career pivot, Jonathan and his wife spent four months backpacking through Europe before he launched his career in energy via the Navy. Married for more than 15 years, Jonathan and his wife homeschool their four children (with a fifth on the way). The family enjoys road trips, their collection of pets, and exploring the wonders of creation together.
